I have an interdisciplinary background in geopolitics, security studies and popular culture,

with a special interest in assemblage theories, object oriented philosophy and new materialism. My involvement with Protein Matters intersects with a longstanding interest in the politics of securitization, materiality in critical security studies and what “counts” in these socio-material configurations. 

I hope to turn these research interests to the questions raised by the project, in the areas of synthetic biology, food cultures, meat-free alternatives and protein supplies.
